Sheffield Core Services

MESH has been providing a city wide neighbour mediation service since 1989.  Until 2003 access to this service was by self referral only.  However, following the transfer of management of the council’s housing stock to Sheffield Homes from Sheffield City Council MESH agreed to receiving referrals from Housing Officers.

Currently our Core Service in Sheffield is therefore a balance between self referrals and referrals by Sheffield Homes housing officers and other staff.

In 2005/6 MESH worked on over 100 mediation cases in Sheffield although because of funding restriction this numbers looks likely to be lower in 2006/7.
