Burngreave Mediation Project
MESH’s work in Burngreave is a central part of the Anti Social Behaviour Project project funded by Burngreave New Deal for Communities and co-ordinated by the Anti Social Behaviour Team at Sheffield Homes. We have been running this projct since 2003.
The project work closely with the ASB Team at Sheffield Homes, who provide the majority of referrals. However any Burngreave resident or community group can refer to the service.
The project has two elements – a neighbour mediation service and a community mediation service.
The neighbour element works in the same way as a core neighbour mediation service. Although MESH works closely with the Anti Social Behaviour team to maximise access to the service for the residents of Burngreave we remain independent and impartial.
MESH has chosen Burngreave as our desired location to develop its plans for community mediation. In 2006 we have begun pilot community cases working with a variety of formal and informal organisations in the interests of the general community.
